Phillip Raymond Oppenheim, known as Opie, describes himself as an elder, visual artist, jewelry carver, comedian, inventor, healer, and motivational speaker. He is a Kamloops Indian Residential School survivor, and has endured addictions and abuse, to others and himself. He has worked diligently to cope with adversity and proudly advocates healing, by using candour and humour about overcoming challenges. He is Interior Salish from the Coldwater Reserve, and currently lives and works in Merrit, BC.
